International Youth Day - August 2010
Reaching out to Wairoa College students with the theme of 'Dialogue and Mutual Understanding' was the aim of the International Youth Day/Hoodie Day. A free sausage sizzle drew in the crowds, who then heard Heidi Mills, our Minister of Youth Development Regional Manager there on the day to tell young people how they can have a voice on youth issues in Aotearoa by being a part of the Aotearoa Youth Voice.
Many young people signed up and some were even lucky enough to win a YROA YNOT hoodie, some t-shirts, a thermo mug and other spot prizes. Big thanks to Jodi Ropitini from Sport Hawkes Bay, Caroline Davenport and Shontele Teepa from Wairoa Youth Services Trust and James Baty from the Wairoa District Council. YROA YNOT also assisted with the Nintendo Wii – Band Hero competition in the hall.
